Owned and operated by Signature Health, ORCA House is a non-profit, adult rehabilitation center providing hope, care, and recovery services to men, women, and families suffering from alcohol and drug addiction in the greater Cleveland area.
Prescribing to the philosophy that chemical dependency is a progressive, treatable disease that negatively impacts the entire family unit, ORCA House has adopted a holistic, culturally-relevant approach to service delivery that effectively addresses the needs of recovering individuals and actively involves the whole family in the recovery process.
ORCA House offers both a men’s and a women’s residential program consisting of 16 beds for chemically dependent men and 12 beds for women. ORCA House services include: individual/group therapy, job development classes, recreation therapy, life skills, anger management, nutrition, and daily 12-step group involvement. In addition, ORCA House offers an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) to provide a structured treatment curriculum for clients with established sober living environments and/or viable employment. The IOP program focuses on relapse prevention topics such as effective use of the 12-step principles, healthy relationship building, life skills, money management, job retention, and conflict management.
ORCA House is one of the oldest African-American founded and operated adult substance abuse treatment centers in the country. ORCA House was founded in 1942 by several recovering individuals who had a mission to offer drug and alcohol recovery services in our local Cleveland communities. 77 years later, ORCA House honors the founders’ legacy by continuing to serve men and women afflicted with the disease of addiction. In this spirit, ORCA House plans to build out a new, beautifully designed residence to offer an improved quality of care.
