Sexual Behavior Services for Youth in Willoughby

Signature Health is dedicated to preventing sexual violence and keeping children and adults safe in the community.

Our sexual behavior services provide youth and their families with consultation, education, specialized assessments, treatment options, and supervision.

These services support healthy sexual expression, they stop problematic, reactive, and abusive sexual behavior, and they teach healthy ways of living.

Through collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team, each youth and his/her family is empowered to make appropriate decisions.

They can then build healthy lives while maintaining safety at home, and in the community.

Strengths & Challenges

Our assessment and treatment services focus on strengths and challenges. Initially, a comprehensive assessment is completed to develop appropriate treatment services. If needed, a personal and/or community safety plan will be suggested.

Each youth treatment focus is individualized and matched to the individual’s readiness, need, and developmental stage. Program involvement may include individual, family, group, and case management services for adolescents and children. Family involvement is essential to the success of any youth’s progress.

Group services are limited for children and ongoing for adolescents. Groups are multi-family to provide both parents and youth education, support, and the benefit of learning together. Group services may also be separated by gender and developmental special needs to address needs effectively.

Research shows that youth who have social support and are engaged in meaningful work are more likely to be successful adults.

Strength-based approach

Case managers will use a strength-based approach to engage youth and families in extracurricular involvement, hobbies, academic supports, and exposure to work/internships.

Through that exposure, youth may discover new mentors, re-engage in new ways of learning, and develop vocational skills/values that will serve them well in the future.
