What is an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)?

An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides structured treatment and support for individuals experiencing mental health or substance use challenges. IOP offers a higher level of care than traditional outpatient counseling, as participants attend structured therapy sessions three times each week, for three hours per day, and receive support tailored to their individual needs.

Depending on the program, participants may receive:

  • Group therapy
  • Individual counseling
  • Education and skill development
  • Family involvement and support
  • Relapse prevention strategies
  • Ongoing treatment planning and aftercare
