Protect Medicaid Advocacy Initiative
Contact Your Representative to Protect Medicaid!
Why Handwritten Letters?
The authenticity of a personalized letter (with a real stamp!) holds more weight with congressional leaders than an online message or using an advocacy platform.
What should I write in my letter?
- Share the story of your healthcare journey since getting on Medicaid
- Describe what would happen if you didn't have Medicaid
- Make a direct request not to change/cut/take away Medicaid
- Include your address (to verify that you live in Congressman Dave Joyce's or Congresswoman Shontel Brown's districts)
- I urge you to protect Medicaid, given its significant impact on health centers and our patients.
*We can provide patients who are interested in participating with paper and an envelope for their letter, and mail it on their behalf.
